You can specify, for example: woman/women only, no smoking only, Department of Ecology employees only - whatever helps meet your personal safety and interest needs. Some of our users do not have access to PC's at home, so you might consider leaving your phone number along with your e-mail address.
Agree upon your arrival and departure times. What about gas money or parking money at an event? It is great if you can offer to share expenses! Are they a "leave immediately after the event" kind of person, or will they want to linger? Be sure to exchange phone numbers in case there is a change of plans, mechanical problems, bad weather, etc.
Do you want to meet the individual(s) first? Perhaps you could meet during lunch or get together at a public place for coffee near your homes. For meeting before you depart, park 'n ride areas are great for leaving one car ... or try meeting near/at a public bus station.
